My name is Mayrangela (Mali) Rodriguez and I am one of the Follow-Up & Scouting Officers. Street Medicine has taught me to understand that each individual has complex, unique experiences and perspectives that influence their interaction with the world/society as a whole. Treating people with respect and open-mindedness will allow you to understand how to meet them where they are.

This opportunity will allow me to work with diverse, underserved patient populations and appropriately address circumstances that disproportionately affect these individuals. Street Medicine has also helped me improve my communication skills which will translate to a stronger patient-provider relationship.

My goal is to become an OB-GYN and work to improve access to care and health literacy in areas where a need exists. I hope to create long-lasting connections with my future patients as they feel supported in their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health journeys.
